Basketball in Cuba

Thank you to the Miami Heat organization for refusing to participate in the recent NBA/Castro brothers propaganda show and going the extra mile by writing to the NBA voicing its disagreement with the charade.

While I believe the hearts of the participating NBA players are in the right place, their brains are clearly not. Steve Nash’s interview, in particular, struck a chord when he said, “All the Cubans need is exposure to be successful in basketball.”

Nash, the NBA and a lot of Americans don’t recognize that what is needed for Cuba, and for Cubans to be successful, is freedom. With freedom and liberty all the “exposure” needed for success will be abundantly available to any Cuban wishing to play basketball or pursue any other vocation.
