Don’t fire Redmond

Re the April 23 Marlins’ notebook, On thin ice: Mike Redmond deserves better and so do Marlins fans.

The last two managers the capricious Jeffrey Loria ran out of town were Joe Girardi and Fredi Gonzalez, both of whom are still actively managing the same teams they went to after leaving the Marlins and both of whom have been successful with those teams.

After Edwin Rodriguez resigned under pressure following a one-year stint, Loria brought us Ozzie Guillen, which set us back a few more years.

Redmond is the right man for this job, and unwavering support from ownership is what this organization, players and fans need — not knee-jerk reactions and unconstructive rumors of change.
