The Herald’s April 17 editorial, A spring without Heat, reminisces about the Miami Heat season and hopes for better times ahead.
With apologies to Florida Panther defenseman Bryan Campbell, fans of our local hockey team again feel like the red-headed stepchild.
This year, the Panthers had a similar record and will get a draft pick comparable to the Heat’s.
Hopefully, their young talent will blossom soon, and all the bandwagon jumpers who were here in 1996 (when few cared about the Heat) will be back on board and demand that The Herald’s coverage of winter sports be a bit more even-handed.
