‘Mooch’ unleashed

The White House news director Anthony Scaramucci (“Mooch”) directed a continuous stream of vicious and vilely profane blasts (mixed in with lies) at Trump’s now former chief of staff, Reince Priebus.

Trump’s Mooch behaves much like the true Scaramucia, a stock character in the Italian commedia dell'arte.

The original “Mooch” blends the characteristics of Zanni, a servant, and Capitano, a masked henchman, two roles that our Mooch performs well for Trump.

In the end, the character Mooch was often beaten by Harlequin for his boasting and cowardice, attributes that are the principal characteristics of the Trump administration.

How appropriate that this administration has a real clown in amongst the army of fake clowns.
