Healthcare bill

I read and hear complaints that younger people will have to pay premiums that benefit older citizens.

I look at my homeowner’s taxes and find that a sizable fraction supports K-12 education.

My sons are decades past such education, but I pay these taxes nonetheless.

Am I happy about this? Of course not.

But I understand an educated youth is indispensable for their — as well as our — future.
