Trump should go
President Trump may not be purposely flouting the norms of our constitutional democracy. The issue is deeper and more concerning: He does not understand the laws and conventions that have enabled the United States to prosper and thrive since the time of independence.
Whether ignorance or malice lies behind Trump’s conduct, he is a clear and present danger to America’s position as the world’s leading liberal democracy.
As of late, our example has been lacking in the areas of trade, climate change, healthcare, justice, and diplomacy. As citizens, we all share in the blame.
A fish rots from the head, and the odor from the White House is palpable throughout the 50 states and beyond.
Trump’s presidency is a miscalculation both on voters’ part and on his part in pursuing an office not aligned with his temperament or skill set.
For the good of this wonderful country, I am not asking Trump to change; I am asking that he resign.
