Airbnb a ‘horror’
The worst thing that can happen to a homeowner is to live next door to, or anywhere, near an Airbnb home. I do, and am afflicted every weekend with a traffic jam of cars and, often, boats loaded with loud and boisterous party people, blasting music as they get more drunk and boisterous.
They are on vacation mode, unaware that they are in a residential neighborhood with small children who have to get up for school and people who must go to work.
Airbnb owners do not care about the small fines because they make plenty of money from these short-term or one-night rentals. The police rarely respond and often have trouble with intoxicated renters as well.
Airbnb is a bad idea for the residents. Let hotels make the money, and the partyers can make noise on the beach.
Most of the homeowners who rent out their homes live elsewhere, so they are not bombarded by the noise these revelers, and strangers, make.
Residents are the taxpayers, and voters and will be making their choices. Homeowners do not deserve this invasion of horror.
