Holding victims hostage

The human-trafficking legislation currently stalled in Congress is at an impasse because Republicans have inserted in it a provision expanding the Hyde Amendment, effectively limiting access to abortion by the victims of human and sex trafficking.

This is particularly ill-advised: Victims of human and sex trafficking experience rape, torture and unimaginable degradation. Once identified, they are the last people who should have their choices restricted.
