Stuck at home

Re the June 19 oped, “We welcome President Trump’s new Cuba policy”: Perhaps Sen. Marco Rubio and Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart and Robert Menendez — and other apologists for President Trump’s policy on Cuba — can explain why I cannot, as an individual, go with the proper documentation to visit a country with which the United States has diplomatic relations.

They write of the “God-given rights” of the Cuban people, but where is my God-given right to travel to any country that will admit me?

Sanford J. Smoller,

South Miami
