End testing pain

Fred Grimm wrote a excellent critique of the state testing roll-out in his March 12 column, State flunked the tests, and failed our kids.

On the same page was a story of a bill to arm school employees to defend students. The solution is right there. Let the school employees shoot the offending computers, thereby protecting students and teachers — a solution no more deranged than Gov. Rick Scott, Education Commissioner Pam Stewart and the Republican leadership pretending the tests will yield a fair assessment.
