Teacher salaries

Under the state’s proposed teachers’ incentive program — “Best & Brightest” — about 4 percent of the teachers statewide would qualify for a one-time bonus. This bonus neither encourages qualified people to enter the education field nor allows them to make a long-term commitment to buying a house or car.

I encourage state legislators to give teachers a competitive salary they can count on each and every year.
