I’d like to applaud Gov. Scott and his DEP deputies for solving climate change issues via the highly underrated technique of “euphemasia” in which a topic is mercy killed by semantic sleight of hand.
My only criticism of Gov. Scott is his lack of vision. If rising sea levels can be stopped by labeling them “nuisance flooding,” then I’m sure cancer can be stopped by labeling it “overly exuberant mitosis” and poverty can be eliminated by using the phrase “asymmetrical income distribution.” The sky is the limit for rhetorical solutions, Gov. Scott.
