Wet-foot policy

One can be sympathetic about Cubans trying to leave their country for ours.

But after reading Fabiola Santiago’s column, I have asked this question for a long time: Where is the concern for Haitians also fleeing deplorable conditions, but never having had the wet foot/dry foot exemption?

There are many oppressive governments in this world, but I see little difference between the reasons Cubans and Haitians tried to reach our shores.
