Red flags ignored

Esteban Santiago has a one-way ticket, his luggage contains just a handgun and no red flags go up? No one could have kept an eye on this guy? Anyone wishing to check a weapon through to a major U.S. airport should be compelled to retrieve it at a police substation on the outskirts of the airport, as far from the terminal as possible.
