Four-way stop at Euclid

Thanks for your attention to traffic problems in Miami-Dade and for pointing out that our area is “among the worst nationwide for pedestrians.”

One example is the intersection of 14th Street and Euclid Avenue on South Beach. Euclid has no stop sign, so drivers zoom through my neighborhood.

Cars on 14th Street mistakenly assume there is a four-way stop and are surprised when Euclid motorists don’t stop!

Since moving here three years ago, I’ve seen accidents and near accidents on a weekly basis. When I emailed the city for a four-way stop sign, it quickly replied that we didn’t need one.

We need to make Miami Beach safer for pedestrians and drivers. Our city leaders should take action.
