Tri-Rail to Miami unnecessary
Why would Tri-Rail want to spend $69 million to serve downtown Miami? This would duplicate rail service that already exists by using the Tri-Rail to Metrorail transfer at Northwest 79th Street. It would also reduce rail service to the new Miami Airport Intermodal Center (MIC) by one half.
Better that Tri-Rail seeks funding to extend passenger rail service north to Jupiter and Stuart, an area now void of mass transit.
