Bad assumption

While standing in the produce section of the Farmers Market on Galloway Road near Sunset, I was approached by a middle-aged man who stood right by my side. Without making eye contact, he said, “Trump won!” and walked away. I did not respond or react in any way.

Suddenly he appears at my side once again. I firmly stated, without looking up, “Idiot!” This time he walks away, never to return.

He could not have assumed how I voted in the presidential election, other than the fact that I am an Anglo senior citizen.

As I reflect on my family history of defending our country, with ancestors serving in every conflict from the Civil War through the Gulf War, I am struck by the contrast of this macho individual, who no doubt fled his own country without even protesting.
