Hurricane Matthew left a trail of destruction throughout many parts of Florida’s coast. After the storm passed, Floridians from throughout the state came together to help one another rebuild.
One group that should get some special attention are our electricity providers. From JEA, Florida Power and Light and members of the Florida Electric Cooperatives Association to the utilities and electric cooperatives from all around the country who sent men, women and equipment to help, crews worked together to ensure that electricity was turned back on as quickly as possible.
It is challenging to recover from destruction to one’s home or property due to a natural disaster. However, knowing that our electricity providers have and will continue to work together to turn the lights back on is a great feeling which helps all of us return to normal as we recover from this recent storm.
