Re Ahmad Abuznaid’s Feb. 26 Other Views column, It’s not just about breaking protocol: He makes broad, unverifiable accusations about Israeli behavior while totally ignoring any proven events that would weaken, if not destroy his position.
In our marvelous democracy, he is entitled to his opinions, but he cannot alter the truth. And the basic undeniable fact is that the Arabs and the Palestinians have adamantly refused to accept Israel as a Jewish state.
In my humble opinion, all of the real and imagined problems in the Middle East stem from this one issue.
The refusal of Abuznaid and many others to acknowledge this will not lead to a solution, but rather promote a continuation of an unsavory status quo.
