Re the Feb. 15 article, Staying afloat amid climate change: The Obama administration has indeed made progress on human-caused climate change, but that progress must continue after his second term ends.
Therefore, voters in Florida, and every other state in the country, must insist that candidates who ask for their vote in the 2016 presidential elections put forward comprehensive plans to address climate change and commence the long overdue transition towards and clean energy.
There are effective, market-based ways to reduce emissions, such as the implementation of gradually rising fee on carbon, with all collected revenues returned to the public as a dividend.
The presidential candidate who embraces this idea will be the candidate with a competitive advantage in 2016.
