Fire city attorney

It should be crystal clear to Miami-Dade residents that cities and towns here are prone to hidden agendas, cover-ups, wrongdoing, improprieties and disregard of the fact they hold the public trust in their hands.

According to the Sept. 22 story on Sept. 22 “Emails cut both ways in push to oust Miami city attorney,” a Miami city commissioner demanded that City Attorney Victoria Mendez answer pointed inquiries and turn over evidence of assisting a developer in avoiding bureaucratic red tape to gain a major coup in plans to build single family homes.

Once she intentionally avoided the requests of her superior, the buck stopped right there. She should be removed and the Florida Bar should conduct a swift and thorough review of whether Mendez is worthy of retaining her Bar status.
