Slow down!

Reducing the speed limit on residential side streets makes sense to me. I’m less sure about the speed limit on major thoroughfares, however. Another safety measure might be to require walkers and joggers to wear reflective clothing after sundown.

I drive home through parts of Palmetto Bay where there is scant street lighting. People walk and jog in dark clothing not realizing that they are virtually invisible until drivers are right on top of them. I drive below the speed limit for that reason. I’m terrified of hitting someone out on the street in dark clothing.
