Just play ball

Hooray for Christian Yelich, a refreshingly outspoken counterbalance to Greg Cote’s bleeding-heart defense of four Dolphins players kneeling down during the national anthem on Sept. 11th.

Like many of us, Yelich does not disagree with the message, but strongly condemns the time and place of the action. He criticized Kenny Stills for dropping a sure touchdown pass after his pre-game protest, which Cote assured us were unrelated. Phooey.

Stills was on that field to play football, not to provide social commentary. He should protest on his own time, not while wearing a team uniform and representing an organization. Shame on the team owners and coaching staff for allowing this disrespectful display on the most solemn of anniversaries.
