We interviewed the Group Two candidates for Coral Gables Commission. Hear what they had to say

The Miami Herald Editorial Board spent the past few weeks interviewing 13 candidates competing for open seats for mayor and city commission in the Coral Gables’ municipal election on April 13.

Group Two is the most crowded race with six candidates — half of them are attorneys — vying to replace Vince Lago, who’s running for mayor. They answered questions about a recent vote on a rezoning compromise for Miracle Mile, the city’s police department and how they would tackle what they say are the Gables’ biggest issues.

If no one receives more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two winners will face each other in a runoff.

Ahead of our recommendations for each race, we’re presenting the full videos of our candidate interviews, so that Miami Herald subscribers can see what they had to say about the most pressing issues facing Coral Gables residents. One candidate, Claudia Miro, was interviewed separately because of a scheduling challenge.

• Rhonda Anderson, attorney and community activist

• Tania Cruz-Gimenez, attorney and political consultant

• Alexander Haq, English teaching assistant at Miami Dade College

• Mayra Joli, immigration attorney

• Claudia Miro, marketing specialist at Miami-Dade County Library

• Jose Valdes-Fauli, retired banker and LGBTQ advocate and brother of the outgoing mayor
