Buchanan is right
It was so refreshing to read Patrick Buchanan’s Jan. 19 article, Why is this man smiling?
This article is full of spot-on analysis and is an insightful and enlightening opinion in these times of extreme partisanship from a staunch Republican who echoes the rationale and reasoning for the negotiation of an agreement by a Democratic administration to prevent the development of an Iranian nuclear bomb.
Buchanan asks, “If this deal is truly in the interest of the United States and Iran, whose interest would be served by scuttling it?”
That’s a question that should be directed to the Republican hawks who always look for military solutions, continue to oppose this agreement and even now, refuse to give credit to President Obama for the release of Americans held in Iran.
Unfortunately for Buchanan, this article may now redefine him as a RINO (Republican In Name Only) because he favors logic and diplomacy over chest-pounding machismo and recklessness. How ironic.
