Meet Mary Anna Mancuso, new member of the Miami Herald Editorial Board | Opinion

Mary Anna Mancuso
Mary Anna Mancuso is a member of the Miami Herald Editorial Board.

Mary Anna Mancuso, a veteran political strategist and writer, has joined the Miami Herald Editorial Board. Her work, on topics ranging from climate change to pro-democracy movements, has appeared in national and Florida news outlets for over a decade.

A longtime conservative voice in Florida, she has worked on local, state and presidential campaigns. She was digital director for former Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater’s 2014 reelection campaign and deputy communications director for former U.S. Rep. Connie Mack’s 2012 U.S. Senate campaign.

“Miami is at the heart of some of the most pressing issues of our time — from climate change to immigration — and I look forward to contributing to the conversation in a meaningful way and fostering a thoughtful dialogue with our readers,” Mancuso said.

Her take on politics, and national and regional issues, will expand the viewpoints on the Miami Herald’s opinion pages. She’ll be writing editorials and columns, and you’ll also see her thoughts on what’s happening in GOP circles when she writes the introduction to our weekly conservative newsletter, Right to the Point. Mancuso is new to the Miami Herald but not to the conservative political scene. Her opinion pieces have been published in various Florida outlets including the Invading Sea, the Palm Beach Post, the Orlando Sentinel and the Tampa Bay Times. Nationally, she has written for Politico, Newsmax Magazine and Newsweek. Most recently, she was a spokesperson for RepublicEN, a conservative climate change organization.
