Defeat nuclear pact

Jim Morin’s Aug. 2 cartoon that the Republican alternative to the Iran nuclear pact is war is not true. In fact defeating it is more likely to prevent war. No one wants war. Doyle McManus’s oped in the same edition points out other options, economic and political, to prevent war.

Iran has already armed many terrorist groups that threaten not only Israel, but also Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan. They are arming the Syrian president, who has gassed his own people. This treaty will give Iran billions more to fund terrorist groups not only in the Middle East but here in the United States as well.
