Iran agreement
Re the July 14 editorial, Give Iran deal an honest hearing: I agree that the Iran nuclear pact must first be read in totality and understood before rejecting the entire deal. However, based on Iran’s past, I’m doubtful of its ability to change Iran.
They have always been one of the major supporters of terrorism. Will $100 billion stop this? Only if the deal precludes them from the ability to purchase military armaments. There has been no recent statement to this effect. The White House has already stated that no nation, including the United States, could be expected to allow foreign inspection of secret sites or military bases.
As for inspections, it’s like telling your 16-year-old that you know he or she has a stash of illegal drugs in the bedroom, and you will inspect it in three to five days.
