Live in Coral Gables? Watch our interviews with candidates who want to be your mayor
The Miami Herald Editorial Board spent the past few weeks interviewing 13 candidates competing for open seats for mayor and on the City Commission in the Coral Gables’ municipal election on April 13.
We’re presenting the full videos of our candidate interviews ahead of our recommendations for each race, so that Miami Herald subscribers can see what they had to say about the most pressing issues facing Coral Gables residents.
Watch as candidates answer questions about their top priorities for the “City Beautiful,” their feelings about the changes on Coral Gables’ Miracle Mile and their views on civility among commissioners. Two of the candidates are sitting commissioners, and one is a longtime resident and previous candidate for the Commission.
Mayor’s race:
Jackson “Rip” Holmes, commercial property owner
- Patricia Keon, registered nurse and current commissioner
- Vince Lago, construction company executive and current vice mayor
