Cases deserve full trial

All of us ought to support Dick Pettigrew’s concerns in his May 29 Other Views column, City keeps development deals a secret.

Miami’s government is morally bankrupt.

I praise those who are willing to spend their time and resources to stand up for what’s right and do their best to protect our state, county and the city.

These most recent adverse court rulings, I hope, will unite the myriad cases being denied the opportunity to prove the city’s malfeasance and persuade plaintiffs, even after the long and expensive process of working through the lower courts, to take these critical issues to the Florida Supreme Court.

That court’s larger perspective of the importance of the public’s role in government should lead to a ruling in support of the 1968 provisions of the Florida Constitution and send these cases back for a full trial.
