A red card followed by a screaming match led to a brawl at the La Camianera soccer fields in Doral, Monday night. The video, uploaded on Tuesday by Los Pichy Boys, a Cuban-American duo with a morning radio show, showed things got heated after a referee at the indoor soccer field gave a red card to one of the players — what ensued was a slew of fights.

A police report from the Doral PD listed Santiago Ledezma-Bastibas, 30, as the player and Annier Quintana-Mendieta, 33, as the referee involved in the incident at the entertainment space to play and watch soccer at 8111 Northwest 54th.

“The referee issued a penalty card suspending Ledezma out the game, which lead to words then to a fight,” said Rey Valdes, the public information officer at Doral PD.

In the video, you can see both parties getting increasingly agitated and needing to be separated by people on the field. A woman’s voice in the video repeats, “It’s a stupid soccer game.”

Officer Ray Weinstein of Doral PD arrived at the scene around 10:30 p.m. after a call said there was a large fight at the facility. Upon arrival the fight had already ceased. Weinstein noted that there were a group of people outside, which can be seen in the third video clip, but there were “no cooperating witnesses” to anything.

Valdez said that a misdemeanor battery report was written up, but both parties had conflicting statements. Officer Weinstein was unable to identify an aggressor and, at the time, the police did not know that other fights had broken out. Both participants signed a non-prosecution agreement before the video was posted on Tuesday at around 9 p.m.
