Watch: See the live video as Hurricane Melissa approaches Jamaica
As Hurricane Melissa heads toward landfall in Jamaica as a Category 5 storm, the island is bracing for impact. The eye is likely to pass over the western part of the country, according to the latest path, sparing the capital of Kingston from the worst winds.
The forecast calls for up to 30 inches of rain and between 9 and 13 feet of storm surge on Tuesday. Flash floods, mud slides and power outages are likely. The eastern end of Jamaica will start to feel tropical storm effects Tuesday afternoon and hurricane conditions starting Tuesday evening.
As the storm comes in, several cameras set up throughout the island can give insight into the impact of the hurricane. Here are some of the live feeds throughout the island that people can monitor as the storm passes over Jamaica. Keep in mind, as conditions worsen, these cameras may go offline.
