Hurricane forecasters are keeping their eyes on a new system that will emerge off the coast of Africa, far from the reaches of Florida or the United States.

On Sunday, a tropical wave is forecast to emerge off the west coast of Africa, the National Hurricane Center said in its 2 p.m. Saturday advisory.

Weather conditions may help the wave see some slow development as it moves west over the open Atlantic Ocean at a brisk 15 mph.

It has next to no chance of forming into a tropical depression or storm in the next two days but a 30% chance in the next week.
