Hurricane center is tracking two disturbances in the Atlantic. What the forecast says
The National Hurricane Center on Sunday night began tracking two disturbances in the Atlantic Ocean.
Here are the details from the center’s 8 p.m. Monday advisory:
Where is the first disturbance? Where is it heading?
A tropical wave is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms a few hundred miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
Development, if any, of this system should be slow to occur while it moves westward during the next several days.
▪ Formation chance through 48 hours: low, near 0%.
▪ Formation chance through 7 days: low, 20%.
What about the second system?
Another tropical wave is forecast to move off the west coast of Africa in a couple of days.
Some slow development of this system is possible late this week or over the weekend while it moves west-northwestward or northwestward across the eastern Atlantic. Environmental conditions are expected to become unfavorable for development by early next week.

It’s too early to tell whether the two systems will have any impact on the Sunshine State.
