On Election Day, voters are likely to face showers in Miami-Dade and Broward counties
South Florida voters may see some showers and face a breezy day when they go to the polls on Election Day, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
In Miami-Dade, there is a 50 percent chance of showers from 7 a.m to 7 p.m. Tuesday, the time when the polls are open on Election Day. The forecast also calls for winds from 18 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.
“It wouldn’t hurt to pack an umbrella when you’re out and about tomorrow,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Sammy Hadi. “Pack an umbrella and get ready for some windy conditions for Election Day.”
Expect a high temperature of around 84, with temperatures dropping to around 77 Tuesday evening. There’s a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms in the evening.
In Broward, the chance of showers on Tuesday is 60 percent, forecasters say. By Tuesday night, the chance of rain drops to 50 percent.
Expect a humid day with temperatures reaching the mid-80s and dropping into the upper 70s by nightfall.
Tuesday will be breezy in Broward as well, with winds of 15 to 20 mph and gusts up to 25 mph, forecasters say.
