After a scorching stretch with little rain, this week is bringing some change to South Florida.

While temperatures are down a notch from the record-breakers of last week— 90 is cooler than 94, after all — rain has returned to the region.

It started on Tuesday and continues Wednesday and Thursday, with a 30% rain chance, according to the National Weather Service in Miami. Friday brings less of a chance of rain, but that shoots up to 40% on Saturday night and Sunday, the weather service says.

This week’s rain can help crews tame a couple of wildfires that were menacing parts of South Miami-Dade and West Broward. According to fire trackers, the southern fire is 65% contained and the larger Broward one 80%. Gusty winds, however, helped fan the flames.

“Any rainfall would be a good thing,” CBS News Miami meteorologist Nic Merianos said about calming the fires. But the possibility of lightning, while low, could make things worse.

Here’s the forecast breakdown for the rest of the week through the weekend in South Florida:

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, 30% rain chance, high 91, low 76.

Thursday: Sunny morning, 30% rain chance, high 89, low 76.

Friday: Sunny morning, 20% rain chance, high 88, low 79.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, 30% rain chance, high 87, low 80.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, 40% rain chance, high 86, low 80.
