Sunday’s 6:53 a.m. temperature at Miami International Airport, 35.1 degrees with a wind chill of 27, beat the previous Feb. 1 record low of 36, set in 1909.
According to the National Weather Service, after this sunny Sunday peaks at 52 degrees, the air will dip to 36 degrees Sunday night, with the wind bringing it down to around 31 overnight into Monday. Monday’s expected to be just as sunny and peak at 59 degrees, then dive to 43 at night.
Ah, but Tuesday’s forecast says temperatures will get back up around 68 degrees. Wednesday and Thursday’s highs are forecast to be in the low 70s.
Miami’s expected to return to the 40s both Thursday night and Friday night.

Miami flight cancellations
The effects of Winter Storm Gianna has caused 20 flights to be canceled in and out of Miami International Airport.
Flight-tracker checks of Sunday’s MIA and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport flights showed the vast majority running on time or early. Even without weather issues, checking your flight’s status with the airline should be done every hour or so on the day of departure.
MIA spokesman Greg Chin said via email, “The cancellations and record-low temperatures locally are also delaying baggage processing. Airline teams are working diligently to process baggage as quickly as possible.”
