Forecasters watching tropical wave over Atlantic for possible formation
National Hurricane Center forecasters are keeping an eye on a tropical wave over the central Atlantic Ocean for possible storm formation.
The NHC on Saturday said the tropical wave is interacting with a broad area of low pressure, which has produced disorganized rain showers and thunder storms over the ocean.
Forecasters said there is a slight possibility of development later this weekend or early into the week. They gave it a 20 percent change of forming into a tropical cycline over the next week. The system was moving at around 10 mph west-northwest.
If the system forms into a tropical storm, it will be the fourth named storm of the 2025 hurricane system.
