Halloween falls on a Tuesday this year. Whether you’re partying early with Friday night’s Coconut Grove bash inside the Cruz Building or trick-or-treating outdoors in Doral, Wynwood or Miami Beach’s Lincoln Road, it helps to know whether the weather will be a bust.

If you plan to be on the waters into the weekend, take note of the marine warnings for high seas, rip currents along the Atlantic coast and coastal flooding through Monday in the tri-county area, as well as small craft advisories in the Florida Keys. Otherwise, no big worries. Storms aren’t in the forecast in any big way, according to the National Weather Service in Miami.

Halloween weather forecast

Rain chance: On Tuesday night, expect a 30% rain or storm chance and a low of 76 in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. You shouldn’t swelter too much if you’re strolling along Grove sidewalks inside your inflated polyester dinosaur costume or out with the kids following your neighborhood’s Treat Map collecting candies via the NextDoor app.

Ahead of Halloween night expect a 20% rain chance Friday and Saturday, bumping up to 40% rain chance Sunday into Tuesday afternoon.

In the Keys, the Halloween night rain chance is 20%. Friday and Saturday it’s 30%, and Sunday it’s 40%.

Temperature: Highs should hover around 85 in South Florida and Key West.

Wind and seas: Friday through Sunday, expect wind gusts to 20 mph, which will keep the surf rough and small craft advisories intact through South Florida.

The easterly flow and swells keep the risk high for rip currents along all Atlantic beaches with seas in the six- to eight-foot range.

Coastal flooding in the Keys remains through 11 p.m. Saturday and small craft advisories run through at least the weekend.
