As the tropics heat up, what will Miami weather be like this week? What forecast says
As the tropics boil with several systems and storms, what about South Florida weather?
Expect more of the same: heat and rain.
The National Hurricane Center is monitoring five systems, including one near Florida. It’s not yet known if action in the tropics will affect South Florida weather.
While Monday will be dry due to air from a tropical wave, the region, plagued by heat advisories this summer, is expecting slightly cooler weather and more rain this week.
Here’s what the forecast looks like for the week ahead, according to the National Weather Service in Miami.
▪ Monday arrives with a 50% chance of rain and highs around 90, which may feel like 103.
▪ Tuesday is predicted to be sunny, with a high of 90 and a 60% chance of rain. It may feel as hot as 103 degrees outside.
▪ Wednesday will also be hot, though thunderstorms are possible through the morning and afternoon. The chance for rain is 60% through the nighttime.
▪ Thursday, the trend will continue with a high of 90. The chance for showers is also 60%.
▪ Friday will mirror the week’s weather pattern: lots of sun, heat and rain. A 50% chance of rain is predicted throughout the day.
▪ Saturday will see a high of 90 and a 50% chance of rain.
▪ Sunday is expected to be sunny, with a high near 91 and possible showers.
Formations could affect South Florida weather
The Hurricane Center is monitoring five systems in the Atlantic, including Disturbance 2, which is expected to move into the Gulf of Mexico by early this week.
“Additional development of this system is possible as it moves westward at about 15 to 20 mph, and a tropical depression could form as it approaches the western Gulf of Mexico coastline by Tuesday,” the hurricane center said.
