Severe weather — including heavy rain — in parts of western Miami-Dade may see flash floods, according to the National Weather Service in Miami.

The NWS issued a flash flood warning through 6 p.m. Tuesday for areas such as The Hammocks, Country Walk and the Redland.

“It’s a combination of a tropical wave interacting with a sea breeze front,” said Cindy Preszler, a meteorologist with Miami Herald news partner CBS News Miami.

About three to five inches of rain have fallen throughout Tuesday, according to the NWS. An additional one to two inches are possible in the affected areas.
