Excessive rainfall will bring minor flooding to some portions of Miami-Dade County Friday night, forecasters said.

Around 5:30 p.m. , the National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for the cities and neighborhoods of Miami Gardens, North Miami, North Miami Beach, Aventura, Ojus, Golden Glades and Ives Estates. The advisory is in effect until 7:30 p.m.

Forecasters expect minor flooding in low-lying and poor-drainage areas, including on the roads. Between one to two inches of rain had already fallen by 6:15 p.m., with another one to two inches on the way.

Residents are being advised to turn around and “don’t drown when encountering flooded areas.”
