Will the cold clear out by New Year’s weekend? What the forecast says about holiday
New Year’s in Miami will be nothing like Christmas weekend.
Goodbye, cold and rain. Hello, heat and humidity.
The 40s we felt last weekend will seem like a distant memory by next weekend as daytime temperatures get back to the 80s and overnight temperatures stay in the mid-70s.
The tropical feels are coming just in time for New year’s Eve festivities at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami.

As the week progresses, the rain will disappear. And it’ll get warmer each day.
Tuesday started out with the same dreary and cold felt blanketing the region the past few days. But things are looking up.
The National Weather Service in Miami had this to say Tuesday on Twitter: “For the first time since late evening on Friday the 23rd, Miami has reached 60 degrees! We know we won’t get any sympathy from those around the country, but it’s still impressive for our tropical paradise!”
And indeed there was no sympathy.
Responded the weather service in Fairbanks, Alaska: “Wow, below 60. I think you need some 60 below in your lives.”
Wednesday in South Florida should be better, and Thursday and Friday and the weekend even better, according to forecasters.
