Scenes from Mississippi Gulf Coast as Tropical Storm Cristobal moves inland
South Mississippi dealt with pouring rain, strong winds and flash flooding across the Coast as Tropical Storm Cristobal made its way inland from the Gulf of Mexico.
While storm surge of 3 to 5 feet was expected, much of U.S. 90 along the beachfront was impassable as of Sunday midday.
Harrison County closed U.S. 90 from the Bay St. Louis bridge to the Biloxi Bay bridge Sunday afternoon.

Waveland
Much of U.S. 90 in Waveland was impassable Sunday as Cristobal inched toward landfall.
Bay St. Louis
Excessive rainfall and winds made for a higher storm surge than predicted in Bay St. Louis and Waveland.

Pass Christian
Fisherman had to act quickly to secure their boats in the Pass Christian Harbor as Cristobal’s storm surge flooded the harbor Sunday morning.
Long Beach
The intersection of Cleveland Avenue and U.S. 90 was flooded and impassable for many cars. Some larger vehicles trekked through the intersection.
Gulfport
Harrison County officials asked residents to stay home, stay off the beaches and stay out of the water after video surfaced of adults and children wading into the Mississippi Sound near Courthouse Roads.
Other intersections of U.S. 90 were flooded or impassable.
Biloxi
Stranded vehicles were towed on U.S. 90 near Rodenberg Avenue and on the highway near Hard Rock and Beau Rivage casinos.
Biloxi closed all of U.S. 90 due to flooding Sunday afternoon.
