Severe weather warnings for Miami-Dade include chance of ‘quarter-sized’ hail

A strong line of thunderstorms, with possible gusts up to 60 mph, continues to move from Broward County south into Miami-Dade Thursday afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Miami sent an alert for a batch threatening Doral and Sweetwater and into Kendall that could contain hail, along with the strong wind gusts and heavy downpours.

The warning extends to 2:45 p.m.

NBC6 meteorologist John Morales says some of the hail could be “quarter-sized.”
