Severe thunderstorm and flash-flood warnings for parts of South Florida

Severe thunderstorm warnings and a flash flood warning have been issued for Monday afternoon across South Florida by the National Weather Service.

One severe thunderstorm warning, for western Broward County, covers Weston, Tamarac, Coral Springs and Plantation, but runs out at 4:15 p.m. Winds up to 60 mph, tornadoes and hail are possible.

Before that, the National Weather Service issued a severe storm/flash flood warning for northern Miami-Dade County, central Broward and eastern Broward. The greatest range of concern for flash flooding, quarter-sized hail, high winds and possibly a tornado runs until 7 p.m.
