Are you dreaming of a dry Christmas? Your holiday wishes should come true
If Sunday’s overnight deluge that flooded streets and closed the Fort Lauderdale airport has you concerned that Noche Buena and Christmas could be a washout — think again.
Could it be a Christmas miracle?
“It was perfect timing,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Anthony Reynes of the cold front that flooded parts of South Florida and made some roads impassable. “It’s out of the way. Tomorrow should be good and Wednesday even better.”
Forecasters expect nothing but blue skies and warm temperatures for Tuesday and Wednesday, and the rest of the week.
A stark difference from Sunday night into Monday morning when coastal Broward saw more than 12 inches of rain, courtesy of a cold front. Fort Lauderdale-International Airport had to shut down early Monday because of flooding.
“We are in for some nice weather,” Reynes said.
