A major traffic shift on westbound State Road 836, scheduled to take place Sunday, has been postponed until further notice because transportation officials expect rain over the next few days.
Oscar González, the project spokesman, said adverse weather conditions would prevent workers from closing ramps and making other preparations Friday and Saturday in advance of the planned traffic shift.
The original plan was to shift all traffic on westbound 836 onto the new lanes located just to the north of the current roadway from Northwest 57th to 87th avenues.
