If you have a flight to catch on Friday, or if your route home from work runs around Miami International Airport, be prepared for heavy traffic and possible delays.

Haiti’s national soccer team plays Peru on June 5 at Nu Stadium. And like Inter Miami matches, the area around Freedom park and MIA will likely be congested from mid-afternoon through kickoff and then again late at night at the end of the match.

Here’s what to know about the issues:

Nu Stadium: The stadium, which has a capacity of over 26,000 fans and is Inter Miami’s home field, is at 1900 NW 37th Ave. in Miami. The airport is just across Northwest 42nd Avenue, also known as LeJeune Road. The parking lot entrances along LeJeune run parallel to the airport’s dropoff and pickup zones.

Game time: The friendly match, leading up to the Haitian team’s upcoming appearance in the World Cup, starts at 7:30 p.m. Parking lots open mid-afternoon and gates will open about an hour and a half before kickoff. That means the area can be congested through rush hour Friday, as people return home from work. And as we know, Friday traffic doesn’t end with rush hour as people take to the roads into the night, just as the match against Peru ends after 9 p.m. and the stadium crowd empties back onto the streets.

Travel advisory: During past Inter Miami home games, MIA has issued travel advisories to passengers arriving and departing the airport. When Inter Miami last played at Nu Stadium on May 24, the airport warned travelers “there will likely be more traffic on LeJeune Road and Douglas Road, particularly near airport entrances and exits, from 4 to 11 p.m.” “Plan ahead and allow extra travel time,” the airport said in a social media post on the day of the match.

Tri-Rail: If you take the South Florida commuter train to or from work, be prepared for extra crowds. Thousands of soccer fans use Tri-Rail to attend matches at Nu Stadium. The Miami airport station is about a 10-minute walk from Freedom Park. Tri-Rail also will be more crowded than usual at the end of the match when fans head home.
