A fatal crash on the Dolphin Expressway temporarily shut down access to the westbound lanes near Northwest 57th Avenue on Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers investigated a crash involving a silver Toyota sedan and a white flatbed truck, said Lt. Alejandro Camacho. The Toyota slammed into the rear of the flatbed truck at high speed in the westbound lanes around 8:20 a.m. The driver of the Toyota, a man, died. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Westbound State Road 836, which had been closed at Northwest 57th Avenue during the investigation, has since reopened.
